Our History

On June 19, 1960, Rev. G.B. Jones held the first service of Hurst Assembly of God in a house on Pipeline Road. The congregation and twelve charter members soon outgrew the house and property was purchased at 812 Harrison Lane, the current location and campus of our church. The original sanctuary was built on this location. Souls were saved, weddings performed, and babies dedicated. The church quickly multiplied. Within two years, the building had to expand to accommodate the growing congregation.

On June 10, 2018 both Grace Covenant Assembly of God and Hurst Assembly of God voted to merge together as one congregation. They also voted on October 28, 2018 to change the name to New Life Assembly of God. We are excited for the future of what God is going to do as He united the body of Christ under one roof.

God has greatly blessed this church and congregation with anointed leadership and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Many miracles of healing, salvation, and infilling of the Holy Spirit have been evidenced in these past years. Three major building expansions have occurred and renovations to preserve and restore this house of God as a place of worship. This has been made possible by the selfless actions and sacrifices of the pastors, leadership, and many individuals who have given of their time, talents, prayers, and resources to make Hurst Assembly of God a place where the name Jesus Christ is proclaimed to this community and to the world.

Our Vision

God's blueprint for the church is found in Acts 2 and our goal is that we follow God's plan for His church

  • Holy Spirit Led

Everything that we do should be led by the Holy Spirit and not by our own strength. Being led by the Spirit holds everything that we do together.

  • Equipping People To Make A Difference

This is our mission statement. We believe that the purpose of the church is to equip the saints for the work of the Lord.

  • Worship

Your purpose in life is to worship God with everything that you are and do. It's more than just singing songs.

  • Connect

We want you to connect with God and other people in your walk with Jesus.

  • Grow

Our hope is that your relationship with God doesn't stand still, but continues to grow.

  • Go

We are a church that loves to reach the lost here and abroad.

  • Serve

As believers, we should serve in some place in this world to honor God.

Our Mission

EQUIPPING PEOPLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Ephesians 4: 11-12 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

According to Ephesians 4:11-12, the purpose of the 5 fold ministry is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and to edify the body.

Mark 16:15-18
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The last instructions that Jesus gave his disciples was that they would impact their world with the Gospel, signs and wonders, power from the Holy Spirit and miracles. Our mission is that you come to church to be equipped and edified to impact the world that God has place you in.
